Walking By (Something Corporate Cover) || Kait Fellers

I haven’t been making a whole lot of original music lately due to an extreme case of writer’s block, so to combat my creative slump, I’m trying to record as many covers as possible. Some will be intricate and precise with 7 or 8 separate tracks going on in them, while others will be simple and straight to the point. In tonight’s case, it is the latter.

Something Corporate is the band that made me fall head-over-heels in love with music. I remember buying Leaving Through The Window from a local book store in my town when I was 11 years old. To this day, I consider that to be the most important purchase I’ve ever made. Something Corporate saved my life and introduced me to some of the people I’m so proud to call my best friends today. Without this band, I don’t know where I would be or what I would be doing, so this is my simple nod to them and my friends. Usually I record all of my songs with separate vocal and guitar tracks but it felt right to sing and play this one together. Recorded tonight, in my bedroom, ten minutes after figuring out the chords and playing it once through. Happy listening :)
